Barbara Walters Has What?

Well, that was definitely in no one’s view.

Infamous news anchor Barbara Walters had a couple of unfortunate mishaps last week when she fell and cut her head while in the home of the British Ambassador.

But on today’s episode of The View (actress Melissa Joan Hart was the special guest co-host), it was revealed that the fall actually came from her childhood, so to speak.

The 83-year-old is battling… the chicken pox.

It seems as if Walters never had the infection as a child.

“Barbara has the chicken pox” co-host and moderator Whoopi Goldberg shared on today’s show. “She’d never had it as a child. So now she’s been told to rest, she’s not allowed any visitors. and we’re telling you, Barbara, no scratching. We love you. We miss you. We just don’t want to hug you.”

It’s common for children to have the illness as a child, but as an adult, it could actually prove fatal.

SAG Awards 2012 Winners

Last night’s Screen Actors Guild Awards, the one where the actors give accolades to their peers, pretty much went as expected in continuing the road to the Oscars and who may actually walk away with the highest regard in cinema.

Daniel-Day Lewis took an award for his lead in the biopic Lincoln, the amazingly beautiful Anne Hathaway (seen above) was given the Best Supporting Actress statue for her turn in Les Misérables and once again, Ben Affleck’s Argo, which was surprisingly snubbed from the Academy Awards took home a high honor of Best Ensemble Cast.

Shawn Holley Wants Out

Looks like someone finally realized there was nothing they could do for a hot mess.

Shawn Holley, the heavy legal fighter behind Lindsay Lohan’s constant easy-way-out problems officially decided that LiLo couldn’t be helped and filed the papers needed to officially dissolve their relationship (after she was unofficially fired).

The troubled actress didn’t put up a fight and signed the release forms, officially placing New York lawyer Mark Heller in his new representation spot. If all goes well, the judge in Lindsay’s perjury case will allow it to clear this Wednesday.

But, there’s a crazy twist, considering Heller still isn’t able to practice law outside of his NYC jurisdiction.

    Since Heller isn’t licensed to practice in California, he needs a California lawyer to sponsor him. The lawyer who agreed to do it doesn’t know Heller from Adam and thinks she’s vouching for another lawyer who has worked with Heller in the past. It’s possible Lindsay could be lawyerless.

It will be interesting to see how she works her way out of this one or whether she’ll finally be doing some hard time.

Chris Brown vs. Frank Ocean: Duh!

As if anyone needed any clarification over who initiated the fight between Chris Brown and Frank Ocean, it’s come to light that it was obviously Chris who threw his hands up after being laughed at.

During the craziness over a damn parking space, Chris attempted to shake Frank’s hand (after his people initially stepped toward Frank’s people and began the violence). Frank wasn’t having that and laughed it off, hurting his little feelings and causing Chris to do what he does best.

    The fight quickly moved to the lobby of the studio … and sources say the brawling posses demolished the place –”They managed to break almost everything in the room and scare all of the staff members working” says the witness.

The receptionist at the studio called the police and Chris hightailed it out of there.

According to sources, Chris felt he was “disrespected” because there is an apparent “hierarchy” in it’s parking lot where the bigger artist gets the best spot.

Chris has apparently turned to God for clarity, posting a drawing on his Instagram saying he was “Painting the way I feel today. Focus on what matters!”

Yeah, because that always works well with him.

In an interesting nod, these two have had some issues for a while: they went in on each other over a misunderstood Tweet that blew completely out of proportion.

Kris Humphries Is Clean

If you want to go ahead and bang Kim K’s ex-husband Kris Humphries, you can do so without worry — he’s finally answered to the claim from a former lover that he had herpes.

The story broke back in August that a woman claimed she had unprotected sex with him back in 2010 and she picked up the STD, but Kris had a test done immediately having sex with her and came out clean.

The documents were filed in L.A. County Court, but were not sealed, hence the release of the info.

Kris now hopes to have the lawsuit thrown out and gold diggers everywhere just realized they still have a chance.

Michelle Williams Lied About Possible Destiny’s Child Reunion

If you’re gonna do a cover up, you might wanna make sure others back your play.

The internet was filled with a bit of sadness today when Destiny’s Child member Michelle Williams said during an interview that the rumored reunion of the amazing girl group wouldn’t be happening at the Super Bowl.

The reason: she would be appearing in a musical.

“I’m going to be in the musical Fela!” she told WRUG Media in an interview. “I hate to disappoint the people and tell them that it’s not true.”

But it seems like the people presenting the musical weren’t hip to the plan and released their own statement that Michelle would not be appearing from January 31 to February 3 — which gives plenty of time for possible rehearsal for a possible appearance and the actual performance itself.

So, who do you believe? (As if we can’t all see through this. DC3!)

A Mother’s (Bigoted) Pain

There’s always a right way and a wrong way to answer a touchy question.

When it comes to Cissy Houston, this was definitely the wrong way.

Her interview on Oprah’s Last Chapter aired last night and of course, the question of Whitney’s well-known drug use was brought up, which her brother copped to leading her to in her early days.

But it was the question regarding rumors of her daughter’s sexuality that really made everyone feel a bit uncomfortable as they viewed it.

For many years, it was whispered loudly that Whitney and her ex-assistant, Robyn Crawford were in a same sex relationship; one that was officially silenced when she married bad boy singer, Bobby Brown.

The gospel singer (who actually calls a daughter a “heifer” in her new book, Remembering Whitney — and she means it as “being bossy”, although it’s still not a good look) became stern and almost heartless in her answering of those particular questions.

“Would it have bothered you if your daughter, Whitney was gay”, Oprah asks.

“Absolutely”, Cissy replies a little too quickly.

Even Oprah, who has obviously been at interviewing people from a long time, is thrown back at that.

“You would not have liked that”, she questions again, almost trying to get her to realize how bigoted she’s coming across.

“Not at all”, she shoots back.

It gets a lot more uncomfortable from there — although in her defense, she didn’t like Whitney marrying Bobby, either.

Justin Bieber Is A Boob Man

It’s becoming painfully obvious that perhaps one of the world’s hottest pop stars should probably refrain from picture taking.

Because of certain shots, we now know that Justin Bieber likes to show off his flat ass, likes to imbibe in the “sticky icky” (that would be weed, people), likes his penis a bit too much and now, we know he can be a bit grabby with his female fans.

A shot of the 18-year-old popped up on his official fan site of him kissing one of his fans on the cheek while his hand was cupping her adolescent boob.

The Belieber, whose name is Jocelyn, posted (via her Twitter) that everyone was actually taking the shot the wrong way, expressing that she “know[s] what really happened & Justin does too”.

Yeah, I think we all know. The boy needs to stay away from the lens.

The picture was eventually removed from the site, but Jocelyn is still using it as her Twitter icon.

And is it me or is it just mere coincidence that his latest remix album, an all-acoustic version of Believe just happens to drop the day after the picture surfaces?

Lindsay: You’re Doing “Lying” Wrong

Seriously?

So, you know that huge court date that Lindsay Lohan has tomorrow to answer to charges of perjury and to relieve her long suffering lawyer, Shawn Holley?

Well, turns out she can’t make it because she’s “sick” — she’s come down with a case of “shop ’til you drop”, it seems.

    …Lindsay’s new lawyer, Mark Heller, submitted documents notifying the judge she’s too ill to fly.  Heller submitted a note from a Park Avenue doctor who says Lindsay has an upper respiratory infection and can’t fly for her own safety as well as the safety of the public.

    Heller also submitted an article from the New York Post from January 11, reporting that a flu epidemic has hit the Big Apple.

Interesting to hear that considering TMZ just grabbed some photos of the she used to be an actress hitting up loads of stores on Saturday — the very same day she was supposed to have been diagnosed with her “infection”.

I’m guessing an infection of her (limited) funds isn’t going to fit the bill.

Manti Te’o – The Jig Is Officially Up

Well, that explains everything and of course, there was some gayness involved.

However, it came from the other side of the story.

Disgraced college footballer Manti Te’o finally told his full side of the “Lennay Kekua” story to Oprah Winfrey Katie Couric earlier today and with his admission came even more to the story of lies, phone calls, admissions, apologies and slightly even more confusion.

As we tend to do with continuous crazy stories like these, it’s time for the bullet points. Head on after the jump for the updates.

During the hour long sit down with Te’o and his family:

the young footballer revealed that he definitely wasn’t gay. “Far from it”, he claimed.

he shared voice mails from “Lennay Kekua” (which have now been proven to be his acquaintance, Ronaiah Tuiasosopo disguising his voice) as well as Tuiasosopo’s confession and apology via Twitter, part of which stated that he “completely accept[s] the consequences to the pain [he] caused”.

he expressed that he’s unsure on whether or not the hoax will affect his draft pick-up into the NFL: “Whatever happens happens … I hope and pray that good happens.”

If you’re wondering just why Ronaniah Tuiasosopo dreamed up this entire situation, it’s simple — it’s seems as if he was in love with Te’o… or had “intense feelings” for him. You can read between the lines, people.

    Sources very close to Ronaiah tell TMZ … he struggled for years trying to adapt to the expectations of his culture, his religion and his family.  Ronaiah, we’re told, never had a serious physical relationship with anyone and created a female persona online as a way to vent his feelings.

    We’re told Ronaiah used the female persona in many encounters, but so far there’s no evidence he became intensely emotionally attached to anyone — until Manti.  We’ve confirmed when Ronaiah spoke with Manti as “Lennay Kekua” he used his own voice.

The fact that Ronaiah sounds just like a woman is scary enough, but the story gets into a bit of saddening territory.

Feeling extremely guilty, he decided to come clean to Te’o last month, but only half way — he never revealed he was actually a man; just that “Lennay” didn’t exist and hoped to continue on as a different woman, which Te’o refused.

Sources also say that Ronaiah hasn’t said much to anyone since the discovery of this tale, having “little emotion” about it all — which all points back to a childhood of “deep fantasy”.

This all could’ve been proven quickly with a damn web cam. Just sayin’.

Ballroom Cheating Blitz

In what was probably the wrong idea considering it’s competitive nature, ABC’s Dancing With The Stars did everything they could to get disgraced cyclist Lance Armstrong onto the floor for it’s upcoming season.

However, probably realizing it for them, the ex-medal holder decided it was best not to participate, even though the show has been gunning for him to take part since it’s inception.

    Producers asked Armstrong to take part in the next installment, set to air this Spring, but the former professional cyclist again said no. Show insiders tell us DWTS is interested in casting him now more than ever, after his headline-grabbing Oprah Winfrey interview, in which he admitted to doping. “The higher-ups feel he is exactly what the show needs to bring back viewers,” says one source.

    “Lance has been offered the show each and every year since its inception. Although flattered he has passed on their generous offers,” a spokesperson for Armstrong tells us. (EW first broke the story.)

In another odd turn of events, the show has recently requested another hot mess, Lindsay Lohan, to join the show — but she, too, has declined (even though they apparently offered her over half-a-million dollars).

Guess she’s still hoping to make some massive bank off of Scary Movie 5.

Lady GaGa Overkill

Someone’s trying to give Beyoncé a run for her money in 2013 — and it’s one of her former collaborators.

Because a new album, the release of a perfume, a documentary, an upcoming debut in a movie and her overall life wasn’t tiring enough, Lady GaGa is giving even more this year: a collaboration album with legendary jazz singer, Tony Bennett.

The two, who worked together on a song for his Duets II album two years ago, performed together at an inaugural ball for President Obama’s staffers on Monday. Following them hitting the stage, Mother Monster ran to her Twitter page to express her excitement and share some pics of what took place over that evening.

“I had the most amazing evening with The President, First Lady & The Whitehouse staff,” she wrote. “And here’s me and my handsome date,” she added, tweeting a photo of her and Bennett, 86. “I simply cannot wait for our album together, he’s my darling!”

The girl definitely has a lot of drive, but c’mon on now. You can slow down a bit!

Halle’s Boobie Dip

Your momma probably told you not to play with your food, but it’s obvious the lesson didn’t take for one of the world’s most beautiful women, Halle Berry.

While working on the set of the upcoming mix-and-match movie, Movie 43, it seems as if the actress decided to let it all hang loose a bit too literally and ended up with her boob in a bowl of guacamole.

During a web chat, director Peter Ferrelly was asked which actor surprised him the most while working on the film. He expressed that it was Berry, who decided that a particular scene was a bit “too soft” and wanted to “amp” it up.

    “We ended up coming up with a couple of things for her to do that weren’t scripted, but were insane. To give you an example [her scene] is about a couple (her and Stephen Merchant) who play Truth or Dare on a first date. Among other things she ended up sticking her bare breast into a bowl of guacamole. She couldn’t have been more fun to work with.”

Someone’s taking their comeback seriously.

Riding high of his first release in nearly 7 years, Justin Timberlake is ready to take the world’s stage once more and is starting his takeover one day before the Superbowl (probably trying not to get in the way of Beyonce. Good move).

Mr. JT will perform during the “DIRECTV Super Saturday Night,” held Feb. 2 in New Orleans.

  The invitation-only concert also features Ahmir “Questlove” Thompson of The Roots as DJ and will benefit the Shriners Hospitals for Children. It is co-hosted by Mark Cuban’s AXS-TV.

Alicia Keys Brings It To The Superbowl

So, you’re not really a sports fan and yet, you’re somehow being dragged to a Superbowl party — well, if Beyoncé (and a possibility of Destiny’s Child) isn’t enough for you, maybe we need to hit a different key of interest.

How about Alicia? Yep, I went there.

The amazing Ms. Keys will be performing the National Anthem at the big game on February 3, marking her third appearance at football’s biggest night (which also marks a record of the most appearances at the game).

No Happily Ever After For “Huntsmen” Cheater

Guess what happens to one doesn’t necessarily happen to the other.

The other woman in the Kristen Stewart / Rupert Sanders cheating scandal, Liberty Ross just couldn’t get over the fact that her director husband had some intimate moments with the Twilight actress and filed for divorce earlier today in L.A. Supreme Court.

    She’s asking for joint custody of their 2 children — ages 5 and 7.

    Ross, who is repped by disso-queen Laura Wasser, is also asking for spousal support, as well as attorney’s fees.

    Sanders, who is repped by Lance Spiegel, also filed his response to the divorce petition.  He’s also requesting joint custody.  He is not asking for spousal support.  As for attorney’s fees, he wants to share the costs with Liberty.

The two had tried to work it out with counseling and briefly reunited, even though Ross was seen without her wedding ring  following the reveal — but like Edward’s heart, the former model is obviously cold to him now.

We all know that Robert Pattinson was the forgiving type and took K-Stew back a few months later.

“Lennay Kekua” Finally Speaks

We all heard all of the excuses reasons Manti Te’o held back on revealing the truth about his fake girlfriend and now, we’re gonna hear from “her” as well.

The man behind the huge hoax, Ronaiah Tuiasosopo sat down with Dr. Phil yesterday to watch the Katie Couric interview and give his side of the story, which will air sometime next week.

    According to sources, Phil’s interview with Ronaiah is “emotional and deep.” It’s expected to air some time next week.

    Ronaiah has yet to address the public about his alleged involvement in the Manti hoax — even though Manti has already said Ronaiah privately confessed to concocting the whole thing.

Also, it’s been revealed that the voice behind “Lennay Kekua”  actually was that of a female — Tuiasosopo’s 20-year-old cousin, Tino — an American Samoa resident who decided to join in the ruse “after she was dumped from a long-distance relationship with another man — and there were “extraordinary similarities” between the two situations.”

So, she Catfished because she was Catfished.

That whole family is nuts.

A Mother Speaks

On February 11, 2012, the world shared it’s grief with the loss of musical icon, Whitney Houston. The sadness felt by many was truly unparalleled to anything most had seen since the year before when another legend left this world all too soon.

However, there was one person’s grief who was truly greater than the world could even begin to fathom: Whitney’s mother, Cissy.

The gospel singer shared her story and emotions with Oprah Winfrey and that interview will air on Oprah’s Next Chapter January 28th at 10 p.m. ET. The surviving mother managed to open up on many topics including the moment she learned of her daughter’s passing.

“My son called me and he was screaming, ‘Mom, Mommy. Oh god”. “I said, ‘What’s wrong?’ He said, ‘Nippy. Nippy,” she said. (Nippy was the family’s nickname for Whitney.)

“I said, ‘Is she dead?’ And he said, ‘Yeah, Mommy, she’s dead.’ And I don’t remember too much else after that.”

Ms. Houston also shared her grief in the upcoming memoir, Remembering Whitney, set for release later this month.

Throw This “Boomerang” Back

Well, the girl doesn’t give up; at least I can say that.

Former Pussycat Doll leader Nicole Scherzinger is still trying to get some force in the music game since leaving the group, but she hasn’t had much luck: her official first album was scrapped and the second first impression was pretty much ignored — oh, yeah — and she was fired from a huge music reality show.

But as much as we try to get rid of her, she comes right back, which I suppose helps out with her new single, “Boomerang”.

The new song serves as the first single from Nicole’s second album (her first being the not-too-horrible, yet none-too-thrilling Killer Love).

Personally, this sounds like a redux version of Demi Lovato’s “Give Your Heart A Break” and Jessie J’s “Domino” — and I had my filling of both of those tracks all of last year, so it’s definitely a pass. Also, I get the feeling there wasn’t really a huge budget for this video.

Jodie Foster comes out (again) at the Golden Globes

Jodie Foster has come out… officially. She used the Golden Globes stage tonight to make the announcement after she accepted the Cecil B. DeMille Lifetime Award, concluding with a thank you to her ex-partner, Cydney Bernard, and praised their “modern family” before ending in tears, acknowledging a “new era” for herself.

She said:

    “I have the sudden urge to say something that I’ve never said in public… A declaration that i’m a little nervous about, but not quite as nervous as my publicist. I’m gonna put it out there, loud and proud. I’m going to need your support on this… I’m single.” The crowd burst into laughter, but she put all joking aside and continued, “I’m not going to do a big coming out speech tonight, because I already did my coming out a thousand years ago in the stone age… when a fragile young girl would come open up to trusted friends, family co-workers and gradually proudly to everyone who knew her.

    But now i’m told that every celebrity is expected to honor the details of their private life with a press conference, fragrance and a prime time reality show. You may be surprised, but I’m not Honey Boo Boo Child. But seriously, if you had been a public figure since the time you were a toddler, if you had to fight for a life that felt real, honest and normal against all odds, then maybe you too would value privacy above all else. Someone, we will look back and remember how beautiful it was. I have given everything up there from the time I was 3 years old. That’s reality show enough, don’t you think.”

Overall it was quite confusing, emotional moment. Peppered with humor and poignancy, she touched on privacy issues, retiring from acting and her sexuality.

Lindsay Lohan Is Really, Really Dumb

Life doesn’t always hand you the best of everything and it’s probably good to hold onto the little bit you have.

Of course, Lindsay Lohan doesn’t seem to do much right, so of course it makes perfect sense that she fired her lawyer — you know the one that pretty much has kept her ass out of jail all of these years.

Shawn Holley received the heave-ho yesterday while actually on her way to court to help LiLo out of her latest mess (lying to cops about that car crash last year) and learned that the actress hired a new one, New York based attorney Mark Heller — who was apparently banned from practicing law for 5 years back in the late 90′s.

    Sources connected with the L.A. prosecution of Lindsay tell TMZ … Heller — who according to the New York Times has been called a “menace to the public” by some lawyers — sent a letter to Holley saying he was now repping her on all criminal matters.

    Bad timing on Lindsay’s part, because sources tell us … Holley was literally on her way to the courthouse when Heller sent his letter — she was trying to negotiate yet another sweet settlement for Lindsay in the lying-to-cops case.

But here’s the craziest part — turns out Holley is still helping her out even after the canning. Because Heller is not legally able to work for a California client, Shawn is still legally her representative — a judge has to officially sign her off from representing the actress (which hasn’t been done considering Holley has said she hasn’t received a letter terminating her employment from LiLo).

According to the mess, she claims she never meant to fire Holley — even though she signed a document written by Heller saying she no longer warranted her services.

Always keep in mind: your world might be considerably crazy, but at least you’re not a Lohan.

Lance Armstrong Lied; Tells The Truth To Oprah

I guess I have some apologizing to do myself.

I probably was one of the few who believed legendary cyclist Lance Armstrong when he claimed he stopped fighting against the charges that he had doped during his career because he was tired of being accused.

In a surprising turn, the former Olympic medalist has done a sit down with Oprah Winfrey (scheduled to air over two nights) where he admits that he had been drugging himself during his many triumphant wins.

    … according to the report, Lance finally ‘fessed up to cheating … the first time he’s ever admitted wrongdoing during his professional career.

    Earlier in the day, Lance apologized to the staff at Livestrong, choking up and saying he was sorry for letting down the organization.

    The way Lance worded his admission could have serious legal ramifications — considering he’s facing possible criminal prosecution and civil liability for allegedly lying about his PED use in a number of legal proceedings.

Oprah said herself in an interview this morning with CBS’ This Morning that she came prepared to the Lance sit down with 112 questions and while obviously she couldn’t ask all of them, he did respond to the “most important questions and [gave the] answers that people around the world had been waiting to hear.”

She also expressed that while he didn’t answer everything “in the manner that I expected,” she was  “mesmerized and riveted” by some of the answers he did respond to.

This is going to be interesting.

Well, behold — nearly nude shots of pop star Rihanna… because that never happens.

This time, the Unapologetic star is barely covered on the upcoming cover of Complex magazine — seven times over. She, in true fashion, shared the shots via her Instagram.

The interview went the way most of them do nowadays: somebody brings up her connection to Chris Brown that we’re not supposed to be caring about, but she brings to the forefront in every moment of her life — and when questioned about it, she gets some kind of attitude.

In this case, the person doing the sit down with the star blatantly asks her why is it nobody’s business and yet, there’s a song with Breezy on her album entitled “Nobodie’s Nobody’s Business” where they pretty much explain just what business they’re involved in.

“Pardon me? It’s the truth. Remember?”

Then, obviously offended over the obvious, she leaves the interview, throwing behind her back that,  “It’s a fun record that The-Dream wrote and we loved the lyric. You’re still asking me questions about it, so clearly you don’t know.”

Oh, we know, girl. We just don’t give a damn anymore… but obviously, you do.

Edward Furlong Hit His Girlfriend Again

The boy is officially going for a three-peat!

Edward Furlong is once again behind bars today after being arrested for domestic violence toward his girlfriend — the same one he’s been charged with attacking twice last year, which makes this the third time in three months.

    Furlong was popped in L.A. Sunday morning around 5:45 AM. We’re told he also had an outstanding warrant for his arrest, stemming from one of his prior domestic violence incidents.

Mind you, this is the same guy who possibly allowed his child to come into contact with cocaine.

Maybe they should split up. You know, just a thought.

A Wedding Speech You’ll Never Beat

Think your husband’s speech at your wedding was top notch? Think again.

Tom Fletcher, the lead singer and songwriter of UK pop rock group McFly (they’ve been my faves for a while — yes, even before One Direction) got married to long time girlfriend, Giovanna Falcone last month and was having a bit of trouble coming up with a proper speech to give to his guest at the nuptials.

So he dug into something he’s pretty awesome at — his song writing — and came up with a nearly 15-minute mash-up of some of his group’s greatest songs rehashed to fit the occasion!

Even if you’ve never heard a song by them (and you really should; they’re kind of amazing), you’re gonna need a tissue or two to get through this one. Showing your heart and appreciation has never been this beautiful.

Also, I bet you didn’t have a children’s choir at your wedding, either… but that’s beside the point.

Justin’s Big Return

While everyone was preparing themselves for a monumental award show over the weekend, one person was ready to finally do something pretty big themselves: set forth the motion of an action seven years in the making.

That person, Justin Timberlake finally let loose the secret he had been teasing: the release of a single, “Suit & Tie” from his upcoming third solo album, The 20/20 Experience. The newly married singer explained himself for the huge tease with the release of the song to iTunes at midnight last night.

“I hope this gets to you the right way”, he shared via an open letter on his site. “It’s the only way I know to do it. Some people may criticize me for the last 3 days. But it was fun, right?? Right?!?! Besides, I’d rather speak directly to all of you. And, who can knock me for having a little bit of fun with it?

Well… No more teasing. Although, it was A LOT of fun. (Did I mention that I’m having fun with this?? Ha!)”

I’m actually not super in love with the track, but perhaps that’s because although I respect his work ethic (he explained in the “tease” that he can be quite the perfectionist), we have had a lot of other great artists over this 2,555 day break (give or take a few days). It’s great that Mr. J.T. is back (with Jay-Z, to boot on the new single), but will he be received the same way?

    So, here goes:

    This year is an exciting one for me. As you probably have heard through the “grapevine,” I’m gearing up for a big 2013.

    Back in June of last year, I quietly started working on what is now, my next journey with that thing I love called MUSIC.

    The inspiration for this really came out of the blue and to be honest, I didn’t expect anything out of it. I just went into the studio and started playing around with some sounds and songs. It was probably the best time I’ve had in my career… Just creating with no rules and/or end goal in mind and really enjoying the process.

    What I came up with is something I couldn’t be more excited about! It is full of inspiration that I grew up listening to and some newfound muses that I’ve discovered along the way.

    I’m calling it “The 20/20 Experience,” and it’s coming out this year.

    I hope you enjoy listening to it as much as I enjoyed making it.

    That’s all I’m giving you for now… I know, I know! Again, with the teasing!!!

    Get ready. This is going to be fun (well, at least it is for me).

Robin Roberts Makes An Amazing Announcement

The perseverance of Good Morning America‘s Robin Roberts continues to astound and inspire and this morning, the brave anchor shared a huge announcement with her fellow co-anchors on the morning show.

Not only have current bone marrow tests show no abnormalities following her transplant last year (“Thank God”, she exclaimed), but she hopes that opposed to what was expressed a couple of weeks ago, she’ll be back on air come mid-February.

She explained that she and her doctors and she are taking it step-by-step, but it would be a “matter of weeks, not months” before she was back in the studio.

The 52-year-old gave a huge amount of thanks to the many fans who have continued sending her well wishes and good vibes as she continues to recover.

“GMA viewers, your messages, your prayers, your well-wishes have given me an enormous amount of strength and hope.”

Quentin Tarantino Still Doesn’t Get It

And sadly, what could’ve actually been a great moment in spite of the mess surrounding ending up showing the exact reason why this movie does more harm than good.

One of the many awards given was to Quentin Tarantino, who ended up winning for Best Screenplay for Django Unchained. However, the controversy ended up in an entirely new place when the too outspoken director ended up saying the very same word that’s gotten the movie into a lot of trouble in the first place.

When asked if he was ever bothered by the massive usage of that particular word during filming, he shot back:

    “If somebody is out there actually saying when it comes to the word n—–,  the fact that I was using it in the movie more than it was being used in the antebellum south in Mississippi, then feel free to make that case. But no one’s actually making that case.  They are saying I should lie, that I should whitewash, that I should massage, and I never do that when it comes to my characters.”

Following his utterance of it, the entire press room apparently went into silence… which led to a somewhat needed relief by actor Don Cheadle, who followed after to speak on his Golden Globe win.

“Please, no n_____ questions. Black people questions are alright”, he quipped.

Beyonce Really Thinks She’s Better Than You

Well, at least she thinks somewhat highly for herself.

Because she couldn’t let the new Destiny’s Child single get the full limelight, Beyoncé has released a longer trailer for her upcoming HBO documentary which now has a title: Life Is But A Dream.

During the new peek, the superstar seems to realize just how wanted she is by the world (and maybe even herself), but shares just she’s just like you and me.

Yeah, I’m laughing, too.

“I always battle with how much I reveal about myself: how do I stay current”, she asks. “How do I stay soulful?”

“It is the battle of my life.”

Oscars 2013: The Nominees

A movie about a founding father is going up against a movie about what that founding father helped to repeal for the 2013 Academy Awards.

Lincoln, Steven Spielberg’s biopic of the 16th President of the United States, took the lead noms for the ceremony, grabbing 13 – including Best Picture. Right behind that was the visually stunning Life of Pi, which took eleven.

The book turned musical turned movie, Les Miserables and the Bradley Cooper-led Silver Linings Playbook took 8 a piece.

One of the biggest shocks: the controversial Django Unchained was also nominated for a Best Picture award. However, lead actor Leonardo DiCaprio, nor any of the other lead actors (or actresses) were not (the sole nomination, acting wise went to Christophe Waltz for Supporting Male).

A couple of other interesting snubs go to the final Batman movie in Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy (although the previous two snagged 9 throughout the years) and Ben Affleck’s lead in Argo, which was highly praised, being outright ignored.

The 85th Annual Academy Awards, hosted by Seth MacFarlane (who also managed to get a nomination for Original Song for a track from Ted) will air February 24. You can get the full list of nominees after the jump.

It’s Official: Britney’s Out At “X-Factor” — And It’s Her Choice

Well, it’s a definitive answer one way or the other — even though she said something different.

It turns out Britney Spears definitely will not be coming back for season three of the struggling American version of  X-Factor and even though everyone else seemed confused as to who was making that choice, in the end, it was Britney herself who chose not to return.

According to sources close to the star, she’s choosing to do that other thing that makes her money — music, as she’s currently working on her 8th studio album and choosing to make that a priority.

“Britney loves Simon, she likes Demi Lovato but her thing is music.”

However, had she not chosen to officially do so, she might’ve actually been shown the door: other sources say that  “conversations about the third season’s judging panel were underway during the holidays and the popster’s return was not part of that discussion”.

Oh, well; you can’t “hold it against” her for trying.

Guess Who Finally Remembered He Was A Singer?

Finally, the Justin we’ve all been waiting for.

In a surprise no one saw coming, Justin Timberlake decided that his almost seven-year break from making music was way too long for even him and teased the aspect of some much needed sounds from him coming extremely soon.

In the YouTube clip posted on his site, he explains why he turned his back on music following 2006′s Future Sex/Love Sound and while some may see it as being slightly douche-like (and let’s be real, it kind of is), he actually makes a very honest point.

“I’m the one who sits and is obsessive about it before you even get to hear it” he says in the minute-long clip. “As close as I get to it, I don’t know that I could physically torture myself that much year in and year out, and expect it to fulfill me the way that it does, and that way that it is right now. I don’t want to put anything out that I feel like is something I don’t love.”

Some artists need to take heed to that.

Once the video ends with a much needed, “I’m ready”… we’re led to a countdown that seems to end at midnight, this coming Sunday.

So what’s exactly happening? No one knows — but something tells me a certain other Justin is going to have plenty of time for his newest fun past time in the near future.

Charlie Sheen’s Heart Continues To Grow

At this rate, if this is what hookers and blow seems to cause, then I say let the man have as much as he wants.

Perhaps it’s nothing more than a continued public mea culpa, but Charlie Sheen is still putting other famous people to shame with his generosity — he’s helped to pay for the funeral of Chris Guerra, the paparazzo who was killed while attempting to get a shot of Justin Bieber in his car.

In a odd connection, the Anger Management star is close friends to another pap who was friends with Guerra and after hearing that the family was having some trouble laying their family member to rest, decided to help out.

“A tragic incident like this erases the line between the photographer and the subject”, he said in a statement to TMZ. “It’s an unforgiving moment that begs us all to be human and work as one to prevent this in the future.”

“As parents, we are all not supposed to bury our children. My deepest condolences to the families involved.”

Wow, Charlie… wow. You’re kind of awesome.

Guerra will be laid to rest in a private ceremony tomorrow afternoon.

Beyonce’s Gonna “Run The World” In 2013

So, the Superbowl appearance and the possibility of new music wasn’t enough for you?

Well, not to fear because Beyoncé is going to pretty much be doing everything and anything she can in this coming year.

“I now know that, yes, I am powerful,” she said to GQ Magazine (which she’s on the cover on for next month’s issue. “I’m more powerful than my mind can even digest and understand.”

While it might sound a bit cocky, the girl’s definitely got a massive point: not only is she going to be heading one of the hugest sport event’s halftime shows and start working on album number 5, but she somehow found time to  sign on for the President’s Inaugural Ball (she’ll be singing the National Anthem) and reunite with her old group, Destiny’s Child for an upcoming compilation album called Love Songs that features new tracks by the group.

Oh, yeah; she’s gonna be releasing that documentary next month, too.

Britney Spears Had A Really Crappy Week

Losing a high paying job is tough — but losing that job and your man in the same week? Yeah, that just sucks.

Britney Spears is definitely feeling the burn of both this weekend. Not only is she definitely gone from The X-Factor (not that we didn’t know that already), but she and her fiance, Jason Trawick (seen together in her video for “Criminal”) have called it quits after nearly a year of engagement.

The news was confirmed by both yesterday via separate statements.

“Jason and I have decided to call off our engagement,” she said.  ”I’ll always adore him and we will remain great friends.”

“As this chapter ends for us a new one begins”, he added, “I love and cherish her and her boys and we will be close forever.”

Also ending was the co-conservatorship he had over Britney and her finances as a judge officially released him from that duty, leaving her father Jamie the sole conservator.

Sources say many factors eventually drove the twosome apart: the fact that she wanted more kids and he didn’t,  the fact that watching over Britney’s empire left him bored and exhausted and that they eventually just “grew apart”.

    Sources say it was a “friendly breakup” and Britney and Jason will remain friends.  As for why they split, we’re told they just “grew apart.”

    The timing’s pretty interesting considering Brit recently changed agencies, heading to CAA … an indication Trawick was no longer involved in managing her career.

Of course, this comes with the official announcement from Spears is not returning for season 3 of The X Factor, which she spoke about as well via another statement:

    “I’ve made the very difficult decision not to return for another season.

    I had an incredible time doing the show and I love the other judges and I am so proud of my teens, but it’s time for me to get back in the studio. Watching them all do their thing up on that stage every week made me miss performing so much! I can’t wait to get back out there and do what I love most.”

Of course, it’s a little weird, according to one insider, “to quit a show you weren’t being asked back to.”

As you probably also know by now, Britney’s working hard on album #8 and is rumored to possibly be considering a Las Vegas residency, which has done wonders for Cher and Celine Dion.

Lady GaGa Messed With The Wrong Person

Someone better watch their step before they get hit with a ham!

Lady GaGa may have taken her defensive nature a step too far yesterday when she and her mother, Cynthia posted an open letter on her site (littlemonsters.com) toward Kelly Osbourne’s participation on the E! show, Fashion Police, saying that her critiques of celebrities and their clothing choices makes her seem like a bully.

    “I have empathy for you Kelly, but I feel it culturally important to note that you have chosen a less compassionate path. Your work on E! with the Fashion Police is rooted in criticism, judgment, and rating people’s beauty against one another.”

    “It used to make me truly sad when I would hear people talk about your weight when you were younger, as I was bullied too. To see you blossoming into a beautiful slender woman who makes fun of others for a living is astounding.”

That letter eventually made it’s way to the eyes of Kelly’s awesome mother, Sharon Osbourne, who we have seen in the past, will defend her children to any extent necessary and in this case, calls out Mother Monster as being quite the bully herself.

“By your actions to Kelly right now,” she said in a letter of her own, “you have shown me that you are nothing more than a publicly seeking hypocrite and an attention seeker. You know it would have been much more dignified of you to do this privately. I am calling you a bully because you have 32 million followers hanging on your every word and you are criticizing Kelly in your open letter. Are you so desperate that you needed to make this public?”

She also touched on GaGa’s infamous meat dress, saying it “sickened” her and that wearing it for a publicity boost “is abhorrent to me. Shouldn’t you be teaching your ‘little monster’ fans to respect animals and life?”

In the true snark that only she possesses, she closed it out with asking the singer if she wanted “to continue this debate. I’m an open playing field for you, my darling.”

Quentin Tarantino Makes Things Awkward

At this point, all of the controversy and drama is seriously turning me off to this movie that I never had any interest in seeing in the first place.

The strong nature of Django Unchained is continuing to bring 0ut some very strong responses and this time, the director of the film is the one at the forefront.

During an interview with a London based reporter for the film’s promotion, the heavily opinionated Quentin Tarantino flips out on the reporter when asked about the connection between real life violence and violence in movies and media.

    The somewhat bizarre outburst was sparked when Channel 4‘s Krishnan Guru-Murthy asked him why he’s “so sure there is no link between enjoying movie violence and enjoying real violence.”

    “I’m gonna tell you why I’m so sure? Don’t ask me a question like that. I’m not biting. I refuse your question,” fumed Tarantino.

It gets even worse when the interviewer presses onto why he won’t answer the question.

“Because I refuse your question”, he says loudly. “I’m not your slave and you’re not my master. You can’t make me dance to your tune. I’m not a monkey.”

Um… did he forget what the movie was about in the first place? Bad choice of words, man.

Mike Tyson Returns To Television

I’m all for getting your star back on the rise, but this is quite the interesting choice.

Building on the success of his one-man show, boxing champion Mike Tyson is making the jump to television in an upcoming episode of Law and Order: Special Victims Unit.

    He will play a murderer on death row named Reggie Rhodes, who had an unfortunate upbringing and became a very violent individual—clearly.

It should be pretty familiar territory for him, considering his life has pretty much had the same tale (minus the murdering part, we hope).

He’s been doing the acting thing for a while; he appeared as a more reckless (and hilarious) version of himself in The Hangover and it’s sequel.

Angus Will Return To “Filth”

Well, I guess all is officially forgiven.

CBS’ boss, Nina Tassler was asked about the future of actor Angus T. Jones over at Two and A Half Men, the very show he bashed openly via a viral video for a religious organization, which he called “filth” and said that he didn’t want to be a part of anymore.

“We’d like him to be part of it next year he’d like it to be. I think he’d like to come back too. [Creator] Chuck [Lorre] would too… He’s made his public apology, we’ve moved on.”

Funny how a certain someone was never given the same option, but I digress.

As for the person who replaced that particular someone, seems like they’re holding out a bit.

When asked if Ashton Kutcher would be back for season 11, Tassler responded with “not yet”.

Seems like this show isn’t over yet… which I reply with a “why not”?

Destiny’s Child Reborn!

I hope you all can handle this!

In a surprise turn, the first new song from Destiny’s Child in almost 9 years was released yesterday and it sounds pretty good.

The mid-tempo track, “Nuclear” is the only new song on the upcoming compilation disc, Love Songs (cover seen above) and while it’s not as in your face as many of their past songs have been, it’s definitely a nice throwback to what the girls were all about in their heyday.

The song itself will be released for sale with the disc on January 29, but you can check it out here first. Rumor has it the girls will be performing it during Beyoncé’s much anticipated Superbowl halftime show with a few other surprises.

Another Celeb Baby On The Way

First comes the music video, then comes love, then comes marriage…

In what seems to be a popular trend these days, another young celebrity is about to have a new addition to their family.

Actress Evan Rachel Wood and her husband, Jamie Bell (you’ll recall they first met on the set of the Green Day video saga, “Wake Me Up When September Ends”) are the latest twosome to announce they’re having a child!

“The couple is thrilled,” their rep said in a statement.

No further details were revealed by the couple, but Wood couldn’t help but to play around with the news a bit once it was released.

In a sweet Twitter mention, the 25-year-old joked, “”Song of the day. “Sweet child of mine” #gunsandroses.”

Nice touch! Congratulations to the young couple!

I’ll Sue You If You Say I Raped You

Because the mess between Dina Lohan and Michael Lohan is never ending, the male part of the equation is now legally threatening his former wife claiming that what she said about him raping her is untrue and if she doesn’t quit it, he’ll take her to court.

Michael sent a cease and desist latter to his ex-wife, stating that the coke fueled sexual attack she says happened in 1990 never took place, calling the allegations “false, defamatory, and unlawful.”

    In the letter the lawyer claims Dina has been harassing Michael of late by leaving a slew of messages on his phone and on the Internet.

    Michael wants Dina to shut her mouth and stop contacting him once and for all — or he’ll sue.

He should be proud, though — without her, we’d never hear about him and we all know how much he likes to open his mouth.

Katt Williams Arrested. Katt Williams Released.

What was the actual point, then? Seriously — the dude’s like Teflon when it comes to the law!

So after missing out on a court date regarding that odd as hell police chase, comedian Katt Williams was eventually grabbed by the L.A. Police Dept.

And of course, he was released only hours later, in spite of the fact that there’s yet ANOTHER bench warrant out for his arrest for missing ANOTHER court appearance.

He was picked up at his Los Angeles home by the officers and was said to have cooperated fully.

Upon being released last night, Katt gave his reason for being absent: he was busy dealing with yet ANOTHER court case, this one having to do with his children’s custody battle.

    According to Katt, he was only arrested because he couldn’t be in two courtrooms at once … and chose the case that was more important to him — the case involving the custody of his children.

    But when asked if the judge awarded him custody of his children, Katt explained, “No, I actually don’t [have custody] … the lady who tried to take ‘em and lost in court twice, they gave ‘em to her.”

Just think: whoever that woman is, she was the lesser of two evils.

Rosie Had A Baby!

Talk show icon Rosie O’Donnell has had quite the habit of releasing news of her personal life a bit later than when it actually happens (such as the heart attack and wedding that took place weeks before she actually mentioned it), but this was one thing she couldn’t help but to share with the world as soon as possible: she’s a mother again!

She and wife Michelle Rounds recently welcomed a baby girl into the world, Dakota and she couldn’t help but to share a pic via her Twitter of the happy family.

“we r thrilled to announce the arrival of r daughter Dakota – #withloveandthanks – AMEN”

Little Dakota joins an already huge brood for the family: Rosie’s got four other children; Parker, Chelsea, Blake and Vivienne (who was born to her ex-wife, Kelli Carpenter).

Justin Bieber to SNL: Do Your Worst

This is either going to be some great P.R. or the biggest backfire in the history of his career.

Pot lover and pop phenom Justin Bieber is going to have double duties on February 9′s episode of Saturday Night Live (he’s hosting and performing) and has told the writers and producers of the show that they’re allowed to push and prod him as much as they choose, including the story of his current controversy.

    Sources connected with NBC tell TMZ … Justin’s camp has declared NOTHING off-limits.  To the contrary, our sources say Justin himself has told producers to push him as far as they want.

It’s worked in the past for former hosts, but one wonders if the wounds might be too fresh to go this route.

Speaking of fresh wounds, let’s hope that whole “cut4Bieber” thing is left by the wayside.

Chris Brown’s Other Ex Still Loves Him

The attraction to Chris Brown still continues to shock and awe me everyone and now, his other ex (or the other woman, if you recall) Karrueche Tran is speaking out to VIBE Magazine, explaining that things will always be sweet between her and the singer.

“At the end of the day, he will always be my friend,” the model said.”We’ll always care about each other…and I do love him.”

The two have still been spotted together, as recently as last weekend driving around in Chris’ car — the same car Rihanna was in not too long ago herself.

As for Riri, a conversation between the two of them may not be in the cards anytime soon.

“For everybody, emotionally, that would just be way too much,” she expressed. “I’m a very mature person so if the time ever did come where we would need to sit down and talk, I’d do it. I’m a mature person. I can work it out, but that would be a lot.”

Riri’s not really feeling it, either — or Karrueche as a whole, actually — considering she Tweeted some interesting things about “walk[ing] away from all the drama and people who create it.”

And if you didn’t think that was necessarily pointed between the two, she followed it up with the thinly veiled comeback, “Bitch, don’t kill my vibe.”

Still thinking that reconnection was a great idea, girl?

Katt Williams Was Too Quiet For A Week. You Know What That Means.

In all of the monstrosity of dumb celebrity moments, we’ve apparently been missing out on the shenanigans of Katt Williams.

But no worries; he must’ve realized he wasn’t around and has decided now was the time to add to the list of things he’s most known for: being arrested or getting close to being arrested.

This time, a bench warrant has been issued for the sometimes comedian for failing to appear in court from that weird moment in time where he refused to stop for police on his three-wheeled motor vehicle.

    The D.A.’s office has charged Katt with evading a police officer while driving in a reckless manner, a felony.

    Katt’s accused of leading police on a wild chase through the streets of Sacramento … while riding a three-wheeled motorcycle.

Of course, this was all part of a three-peat weekend for him. Right after the “chase”, he smacked that Target employee and the day after, he got into a bar fight (which there also has been a bench warrant issued considering he refused to show up to court on that charge, to0).

I guess it made sense for him to make the choice to possibly retire — unless he’s gonna be working as a common criminal from now on.
