The tragic and sudden death of paparazzo Chris Guerra yesterday emitted comments of just how invasive these people can be when it comes to capturing that one shot and now, according to Justin Bieber (whom he was following in his final moments), it’s coming to light that he might not have been nice as others have claimed him to be.
According to reports, Guerra had claimed that he saw the 18-year-old singer smoking weed from a pipe and was attempting to catch a shot of that (he relayed this information to a friend over the phone), which was weird considering Justin was not in the car at that time: he was at the Four Seasons Hotel and only left once to eat at the famed Roscoe’s Chicken and Waffles restaurant earlier New Year’s Day — and went right back to his room, with no pipe whatsoever being seen.
Sources connected to Justin and Selena say the photog was lying when he told the friend he saw a car belonging to Selena Gomez on the Four Seasons property. The sources tell us … the two of them flew to Mexico for New Year’s Eve, but had a blow-out argument on December 30 and broke up. Selena left Mexico that same day and Justin left for L.A. on the 31st. They haven’t seen each other since and she was never at the Four Seasons on New Year’s Day.
According to the sources, Justin didn’t like Guerra too much, but is choosing not to speak too negatively on his life.
His reps released a statement, expressing sympathy to Guerra’s family and hoping the tragedy would “inspire meaningful legislation and whatever other necessary steps to protect the lives and safety of celebrities, police officers, innocent public bystanders, and the photographers themselves.”
