1D’s Playing It Safe

BRIT Awards 2013 - Arrivals

No one’s gonna hit them where the sun don’t shine ever again.

Following a unintentionally hilarious moment where a shoe came a little too familiar with the crotch of member Harry Styles, One Direction has decided not to risk any more trouble and have banned glow sticks from their appearance in Belfast, Germany.

Shoes. Glow sticks. OK, we can go with this.

Fans reeled with excitement as Harry Styles, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne and Louis Tomlinson took the stage for the first of four highly anticipated gigs in Northern Ireland last night, and security cracked down as overzealous fans flocked to see their pop idols.

Umbrellas and plastic bottles were also banned from the Belfast Odyssey Arena, as well as recording equipment, professional cameras and glass items. Concertgoers were also asked to leave any prohibited items at the door and bags were searched before admittance was allowed.

Sounds more like a hip-hop concert. Next thing you know, they’ll start having metal detectors to see them.

Anyway, safety first, I suppose — but again. Glow sticks?
