A Quick Turnaround For Ja Rule

"Notorious" New York City Premiere - Arrivals

Rapper Ja Rule finally got the sweet taste of freedom back when he was released this afternoon from prison after serving just under two years for criminal possession of a weapon.

He had that same taste smacked from his mouth moments later when he was put on a bus for another prison for tax evasion.

Yeah — he definitely had nothing to “Holla, Holla” about.

Per published reports, the 36-year-old MC (real name: Jeffery Atkins) left Mid-State Correctional Facility in Marcy and was transported west to Oneida County Jail in New York, where he’ll he remain in custody until authorities determine where he’ll ultimately serve out his sentence for skipping out on $1.1 million in back taxes.

Although he’s pretty much been away for some time, he’s still releasing albums; the latest being PIL2 (“Pain Is Love 2″) back in February of 2012.
