Oops, She Did It Again: Janet Jackson Secretly Married

Seems like old habits die hard.

Janet Jackson just admitted that she’s not actually engaged to Qatar millionaire businessman Wissam Al Mana — she’s actually married to him and has been since last year.

In a joint statement, the singer and her now husband attempted to kill the rumor that they weren’t planning a huge wedding — because the nuptials had already taken place before any of the public knew about it.

“The rumours regarding an extravagant wedding are simply not true. Last year we were married in a quiet, private, and beautiful ceremony.”

“Our wedding gifts to one another were contributions to our respective favourite children’s charities,” they added in the statement posted on Janet’s site. “We would appreciate that our privacy is respected and that we are allowed this time for celebration and joy. With love, Wissam and Janet.”

This is not the first time Janet’s been married in secret: she eloped with first husband James DeBarge in 1984 (the union was annulled a year later) and it only came to light that she was married to former manager Rene Elizando, Jr. after he filed for divorce in 2000.
