“Blade Runner” Moves To New Digs — Another Jail Cell

Oscar Pistorius File Photos

In a story that actually has enough pull to still continue to shock me a day after it broke, Olympian Oscar Pistorius appeared before a judge today on charges that she shot and killed his girlfriend, model Reeva Steenkamp early Valentine’s Day morning.

The 26-year-old broke into immediate tears when the charges were laid out before him — that the shocking death was premeditated by the 26-year-old athlete.

The defense seems to be taking a route of self-defense, with proof of a Tweet from the “Blade Runner” believing he was being robbed back in November and approaching the situation with the same gun that killed Steenkamp at the ready — only to find that it was  a washing machine that was left on.

Following the bail hearing — which has been postponed until Tuesday — he was moved to another prison which was better suited for his “handicap needs”.

During his first night in jail, he was visited by his family, who brought him food and pillows for a more “comfortable” situation — and that will not be happening again, according to reps for the South African Police Department. He will be checked on every 30 minutes.
