“Any questions?”
Alright, so we’re all just a little bit tired of Beyoncé throwing her constant announcements about her Super Bowl halt time show in our faces every other moment and truth be told, this is probably the last I’ll even mention it (until Monday when I share the actual performance), but this was a moment that just couldn’t pass.
As you all may remember, the world went into a firestorm earlier in the week when it was revealed that the superstar possibly was lip syncing while performing the National Anthem at the Presidential Inauguration. She had been pretty mum on speaking about it (which is funny enough considering how much she wanted to talk about the halftime show instead), but rather than continue on with the “didn’t she or did she”, the classy woman did one better.
During a conference for the upcoming halftime show and game, she walked on stage and asked the reporters in the audience to stand up momentarily while she proved once and for all there was nothing wrong with her voice — and broke out into the Star Spangled Banner acapella — bringing cheers and massive applause within the hall.
When she officially blew everyone away, she only had one thing to say: “Any questions?”
Pure class! She then admitted that due to having no rehearsal time for the highly important event, she chose to let the “backing tape” do the hard work and promised it wouldn’t be like that come Sunday.
“Due to the weather, due to the delay, due to no proper sound check, I did not feel comfortable taking the risk … so I decided to sing along with my pre-recorded track, which is very common in the music industry. And I’m very proud of my performance.”
Let’s be real — even if she does, we know the girl can sing a damn phone book!
