So, did everyone know there was a game happening at the Beyoncé concert last night?
Alright, so you’ve probably seen that joke more than once throughout the weekend, but you can’t deny that truth that the Super Bowl (and even some of the commercials — the M&Ms one was one of my faves) somehow managed to come in second to the show she ended up giving… and not only that, but managed to release some even bigger news following the performance.
But let’s go in order. We’ll start with what was overhyped in the past week: the actual halftime show.
Head on after the jump for all of the Bey Bowl madness.
So following Jennifer Hudson’s breathtaking performance of America, The Beautiful with the children of Sandy Hook Elementary and Alicia Keys slightly overdrawn, yet powerful rendition of the National Anthem, the big show began about an hour into the game.
Now personally, I really liked what I saw (as if that’s any surprise — the girl knows how to wreck shop) and the Destiny’s Child reunion we all hoped for actually came to fruition (although it was a bit too short for me — and the eventual push of making the girls into the joke they’ve been for years (nothing more than Bey’s back-up singers) was a bit off-putting), but I didn’t quite love it.
Maybe it had to do with the fact that it was nothing really new. I suppose it was too much to hope that she’d create all new choreography (and why would you want to, anyway?). but there was still something kind of lacking for me.
You can check out the full show, if you missed it, right here.

Following the spectacle, most eyes went back to the game following a minor blackout (somewhere, Beyoncé must’ve yelled “Turn the lights off!“), but of course the talk couldn’t be about anything but her for less than a day.
This morning came the announcement that she would literally be taking over the world with her upcoming world tour, The Mrs. Carter Show.
Not much is known about the show at this moment, but we do know it’s set to start on April 15 in Serbia and send Bey all over the place, including a stop at the famous o2 stadium in London for four nights — and of course, she filmed an awesome promo for that, too. The girl knows how to make an announcement.

So if you missed her last night, no worries — you’re going to be able to catch her a lot in this new year!
(Oh, yeah — congrats to the Baltimore Ravens. I believe they won that little game that was happening during her show.)
